Support the Chicago Philharmonic

The Chicago Philharmonic, one of the country’s finest symphonic orchestras, features superb musicians from all around the Chicago area.  The Chicago Philharmonic is unique among Chicago-based orchestral ensembles In that it’s core consists of performers from Lyric Opera’s orchestra along with a number of Chicago’s top freelancers who complete the ensemble.  These talented musicians have one thing in common - a passion for the opportunity to be showcased in a symphonic setting while playing some of the most beautiful and inspiring music ever written.

For the past twenty years, the Chicago Philharmonic has consistently brought you orchestral performances of the highest professional quality, in convenient and intimate venues, and at a most reasonable price.   We rely on the generous gifts made by our loyal supporters.   In these challenging economic times, we need your help more than ever.  By being part of our family of donors, you can help ensure a strong future for the orchestra.

Join us in celebration as we enter our third decade of making music. JPF Richter once described music as "the poetry of the air".
It makes the heart sing, and is one of life’s greatest treasures.  Help  keep the music alive!  We can only succeed with your generous support.

Families to the Philharmonic

Live music experiences can play a crucial role in inspiring a child to develop an abiding love for the art form of classical music.  The Chicago Philharmonic is pleased to offer a new program where individuals can sponsor not only a child, but also that child's immediate family, to attend one of the Chicago Philharmonic's concerts.  We feel that the family's participation is an important part of helping to nurture and explore that child's awareness of classical music, also enabling the entire family to participate in an artistic endeavor together. Give the wonderful gift of live classical music to a family that is less fortunate than yours. For a generous gift of $50, the Chicago Philharmonic will connect your donation with a family in need.

Side by Side

The Chicago Philharmonic is currently developing Side by Side a mentoring program geared toward middle and high school students.  The program provides top level guidance to students in the school setting and an opportunity to sit in the orchestra with their mentors for a rehearsal session of a major classical work.  Program debut April 2010.

Dream Builders

Also in the works is Chicago Philharmonic's new Dream Builders program in partnership with an area music school.  Orchestra and community members donate used instruments to be used in a free loan program.  The music school will connect the students in need with their instrument of choice.

NEXT!

The Chicago Philharmonic started a new program titled NEXT!, creating an opportunity for fresh young talents to perform in the foyer before the concert and have the opportunity to be heard by Chicago Philharmonic patrons, musicians and conductors.  This season the CPO welcomed a Japanese flute player, a woodwind quartet from UIC and an inner city teen marimba ensemble from Merit Music School.
