Q. Who inspired you to pursue music as a career?
A. I was inspired to pursue a career in music by being regularly taken to chamber, choral and symphonic concerts as a child. It seemed something I really wanted to be part of, and my experiences in youth orchestra gave me the confidence to continue studying.
Q. What do you like most about the CPO’s ensemble approach to creating music?
A. I like the idea of smaller scale groupings–it gives the musicians a chance to pick their own repertoire. I also find it very interesting how composers treat different forms, i.e. how symphonic music influences chamber music and also how vocal music and opera affects both chamber and symphonic music.
Q. What new endeavors would you like to see the CPO pursue in the future?
A. I would really like to see a lot more emphasis put on youth and education including encouraging parents to bring their children to concerts.
