Explore two titans of the Romantic era in intimate fashion as the Chicago Philharmonic Chamber Players perform the music of Beethoven and Schumann in one of chamber music’s lushest configurations: the piano trio. The afternoon features one compelling trio from each composer, both written during tumultuous times in the composers’ lives. We hope you will join us for this journey of the heart and spirit.

Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827)
Piano Trio in E-flat major, Op. 70, No. 2
Poco sostenuto–Allegro ma non troppo
Allegretto ma non troppo
Finale. Allegro

Robert Schumann (1810 – 1856)
Piano Trio in F major, Op. 80
Sehr lebhaft
Mit innigem Ausdruck
In mässiger Bewegung
Nicht zu rasch

Mathias Tacke, Violin
Paula Kosower, Cello
Kuang-Hao Huang, Piano
